Crossover Voting Ban

Wyoming voters are no longer allowed to switch parties to vote in the primary they are most interested in. The long-standing Wyoming tradition of crossover voting is now severely restricted after the Legislature passed HB 103 in the 2023 legislative session.

Wyoming voters are no longer allowed to change their voter registration less than 96 days in advance of a primary election. This means voters are locked into their party affiliation before candidates have even begun filing to run for office.

In 2024 May 15th will be the last date registered voters may change their party affiliation.
